Magnetometers

The MEMSIC magnetometers are specially designed to measure low gauss field range including the geomagnetic field domain. These magnetometers use AMR Permalloy film as magnetic field components. During manufacturing, a strong magnetic field is applied to the film to orient its magnetic domains in the same direction establishing a magnetizing vector that changes relative to the current flowing through the permalloy film changing the films resistance. This resistance variation is directly proportional to the angle between the magnetization vector and the current vector making the MEMSIC AMR sensor optimally designed to take advantage of this domain region.

 

Dual Axis

The MMC212xMG is a dual-axis magnetic sensor, it is a complete sensing system with on-chip signal processing and integrated I2C bus, allowing the device to be connected directly to a microprocessor eliminating the need for A/D convertors or timing resources. It can measure magnetic field with a full range of +/1 2gausses and a sensitivity of 512 counts/gauss @3.0V at 25 degrees C. The MMC212xMG provides an I2C digital output with 400 KHz, fast mode operation

3-AXIS

The MMC312xMR is a 3-AXIS magnetic sensor, it is a complete sensing system with on-chip signal processing and integrated I2C bus, allowing the device to be connected directly to a microprocessor eliminating the need for A/D convertors or timing resources. It can measure magnetic field with a full range of +/1 2gausses and a sensitivity of 512 counts/gauss @3.0V at 25 degrees C. The MMC212xMG provides an I2C digital output with 400 KHz, fast mode operation and is packaged in an ultra small low profile LGA package and is available in operating temperature ranges of -40C to +85C.
